Historic Homes Tour: City Creek

One of Preservation Utah's largest annual fundraising events, the Historic Homes Tour offers a journey into the past, showcasing the rich history and architectural diversity of the neighborhood. For over 50 years, the Historic Homes Tour has allowed the public to see how historic buildings can be brought into the comfort of the 21st century while maintaining the historic character and charm only historic buildings can provide. With the permission and generosity of the building owners, the tour opens privately owned buildings to the public. Preservation Utah volunteers guide the public through the homes, offering historical and educational information about various aspects of the buildings.

Whether you're a history enthusiast, an architecture buff, or simply curious about the stories behind these iconic homes, the Historic Homes Tour promises an enriching experience that celebrates the heritage and cultural significance of the neighborhood.

Parking:

• Because this year's tour is in a canyon, parking near the tour headquarters will be limited.
• Please do not park on Canyon Rd. in the neighborhood.
• If you have accessibility needs, please park inside Memory Grove Park behind the gate (our gate volunteer will help with access).
• If you do not have accessible needs, please park above the canyon on East Capitol Blvd or A St. (see the map below)
• We have also been given permission to park in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints parking lot at 135 A St E, Salt Lake City (as long as there is no funeral).
• Please follow all street parking signs and laws.

Accessing the Tour Headquarters:

• There are stairs and paths that lead into Memory Grove (see map).
• Stairway access can be found on A Street at 9th, 8th, and 4th Avenue and from East Capitol into the canyon at 4th Ave and near the Capitol Building (west of Memorial House).
• Please pick up your ticket(s) at the tour headquarters on May 18 between 10 am and 3 pm. Tour headquarters will be inside Memory Grove Park at: Memorial House, 375 N. Canyon Road, Salt Lake City, UT 84103
